Comedian and actress Mo’Nique was invited on The View to talk about her Netflix boycott when things took a turn for the worse.

Wrapped up in a previous conflict between her, Tyler Perry, Oprah Winfrey, and Lee Daniels, Mo’Nique started to complain about their strained relationship, according to Page Six.

Like she said in the past, Mo’Nique explained that she and her career were being punished by Daniels, Winfrey and Perry for not promoting the film Precious internationally.

In comes Whoopi Goldberg who wasn’t having any of it! As someone who’s won an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony she knows her stuff!

As Mo’Nique continued to complain about the incident, Whoopi interrupted her saying, “I’m going to stop you because contractually, when you make a movie, regardless of who you sign the deal with, your job is to go and promote said movie.”

Mo’Nique responded, “What Tyler Perry showed me, Lee Daniels, Oprah Winfrey and Lionsgate is that, ‘When you don’t do what we ask you to do, we will take your livelihood.’ ”

She went on to talk about how much her family and her career suffered because she rose above saying, “I did not allow the bullying to happen, this is what I sit in.”

Representatives from Perry and Daniels didn’t comment while Winfrey’s representatives have said nothing.

Hey, I’m here at work and I can tell you they aren’t paying me enough and I demand $250,00 a year because I show up everyday. I can’t guarantee that they will get a return on paying me that much, but dammit, I’m being discriminated against because they aren’t paying me what I want!!! Monique go and sit down, create some opportunities for yourself and do better next time negotiating…Why don’t you tag team with Al Sharpton and you too can cry racism together…I’m sure he’s banking more money than you are right now.

There was no “go at it” between Whooping and Monique! They had a very intelligent conversation. Although I don’t think Monique isnt taking ANY blame for this, she needs to realize that she played a role in decisions that were made which seemed to be costly. Stop dropping names and move on. Get an agent that is going to represent you and get you better contracts.

  3. Mac Daddy, I hope your mother isn’t “A BLACK WOMAN,” the hate you vomit out at us, tells me, you must really hate her, or you had no respect for her. Since you have such a low opinion of us. Find the source of that hatred, and heal yourself guy, or go crawl off somewhere, and die!

  4. They didn’t go at it. They just voiced different opinions of how the situation should’ve been handled. Monique was underpaid for that movie. I hope she fired that agent for negotiating such a low salary, and to expect her to leave newborns at home, to travel the planet to promote it, would have been out the question for $50,000. She won an Oscar for that, and as someone said probably took home little for it, while the others made millions. The only thing I feel she did wrong, was getting too vulgar with her response to Lee, Oprah, and Tyler.

  5. Whatuthought, I agree – she spoke intelligently and clearly; she expressed her views well whether any agrees with her or not. And Ted Gravely, I also agree – there was no cat fighting or unprofessionalism in Mo’s exchange with Whoopi. As she said, sometimes you have to be the first to speak out and the backlash you get from that can be your stepping stool. Others before her have suffered for being the first to stand up or to speak out and were always in some fashion, vindicated. Look at the beating Colin K has endured and now look at the support he is receiving and the contributions being sent his way for his charities. Fear is the false evidence appearing real – – perhaps we should all step back and reevaluate what platform we will step out on.

  6. I don’t know of any actors who star in movies and don’t promote them. The same way she’s making her rounds and complaining about people who are employing actors, she could have been making the same rounds promoting a movie. Some people just don’t get it.

  7. Monique, I’m so sorry that you are still being punished for the mistake you made.Tyler,Oprah and Lee, God said for us to forgive in order for us to be forgiven of our sins.

  9. She’s absolutely right to call out those three clowns. Just because they have money and white folks approve doesn’t mean they are always right. Personally, I don’t like any of them, minstrel shown producing behinds.

Nonsense. Those two women were professional. They didn’t go at it. In my opinion, it was an honest and revealing discussion. I wish Mo the best. People hold Tyler, Lee, and Oprah in high esteem. Tyler just had a son a few years ago. Lee and Oprah are childless. Those three also have deeper pockets. Why would Mo go on an International promotion free of charge and she was only paid $50,000 for the movie. Ridiculous. After taxes she might have cleared 35K. We might not like how she is saying it or who she is criticizing, but Mo has been clear, consistent, and fair. I pray there is another way for her to come out on top.

Mo’, seems as though you failed to see the bigger picture in doing what they asked you to do. I do not see that they tried to bully you into anything. You got in your own way, thats your fault. So you basically said pay me and I’ll promote if not I am not doing anything………………………. Promoting the movie was investing in your own work and career. Did anyone else offer Mo’ a special that paid 500k or more?
