Lee Daniels is one busy man! And it doesn’t seem like he’ll be slowing down anytime soon. ESSENCE caught up with Daniels and Jussie Smollett to get the latest on the shows Empire & Star.
While Smollet talked about life in Los Angeles, Twitter and almost living with Insecure actress Yvonne Orji Daniels gave us a sneak peek of his new work.
In an interview with ESSENCE, Daniels revealed that he’s working on new television series that will focus on Black women in journalism.
He told ESSENCE, “I’m so misunderstood and it drives me batshit.” He continued, “So let me just take a moment to flip the table. It’s (the series) about black journalism, women in journalism.”
He wouldn’t spill the tea on the show but revealed that there would be some familiar faces. “I can’t talk about it, but it’s two people you know.”
