Is Venus Williams following her younger sister Serena to the wedding chapel?

The seven-time Grand Slam champ recently set off an Internet frenzy Tuesday when paps caught her sporting a diamond band on her ring finger as she walked through Sydney Airport with her millionaire boyfriend Nicholas Hammond, 25.

In the photos, Venus, 37, smiles as she walks through the terminal, hiding her hand under a large straw hat as she was joined by her mother Oracene Price and sister Isha. (View pics in the video above.)

Despite the rumors, a rep for Venus confirmed to MailOnline that the pair – who made their debut as a couple at the Australian Open earlier this month, are NOT engaged.

Venus was last seen with Nicholas in November in New Orleans, where she attended Serena’s wedding to Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian. They reportedly held hands as they walked through the city.

And according to PageSix, they looked happy at a December dinner in NYC. “They were cuddled up the entire time they were inside the restaurant, even kissing while waiting to be seated and continuing the affection at their table,” said a source.

Hammond is an heir to Walter Annenberg’s TV Guide fortune. “He’s a wealthy financier who goes between California and New York,” said a friend.

Although notoriously private, the pair are “head over heels for each other” according to PageSix.

The publication also reported that the two have regularly met up in Palm Beach, Florida over the past several months. “Nicky has met up with Venus in Palm Beach, where his family has a $20 million mansion as well as in the Hamptons, where they have a $20 million house,” said the source.

And it has impressed her that he has not bragged about their relationship. “She likes that he’s very private,” added the source.

Happy for Venus and Serena. These ladies have always carried themselves with class and dignity- strong mother, but a constant father figure in their life. Great job by the parents raising beautiful women. If black men wanted to marry them, they have had years. These ladies are in their mid to late 30s and the clock is ticking. How long must they wait to say, “I do” and have babies? Beautiful sisters are waiting everyday for a brother to drag his feet and make up his mind. They have no problem like RG3 and others marrying before they are 25 to other demographics. Do you ladies. Start changing the game, you’re desirable.

  2. mac daddy – thank you for saving us beautiful, intelligent, sophisticated, well-educated women from you. Go, throw yourself on the trailer trash that will have you. Bye, Bye!!

    • Thanks for doing all black woman that favor. From all your posts ranting about black women, it’s apparent that black women were done with you long before you were done with them. It also appears that black women aren’t regretting their decision not to f*ck with you either. Keep steppin troll.

Then move on whomever you are. If you only met two snaps females, then your circle was small. Since black women attend and graduate college at a higher rate than black males (so I’ve heard), I can’t imagine those educated sisters portraying the behavior you described. What I can believe is that you never asked a sister out on a date and wine and dined her. Then told that sister save yourself for me. Took that sister to the movies, treated her with respect, met her parents, and didn’t mind sitting in the mall while she went shopping. Almost forgot – talked and cemented a future with her. You didn’t cheat and you didn’t play games. Naw, I can’t imagine that you did that. If so, you wouldn’t be on here disparaging them, and taking unnecessary shots. We are making an assumption that you’re a brother, I think you’re trolling just to trigger reactions. So I won’t entertain you again, just letting you know that we feel sorry for your coon behind.

  3. I’ve never heard of if known of Venus to date a black man. These black men with money usually end up with white women. Most black men in their finanancial orbit would probably not give them a second look. Sad these blacks with money give it to a people that hate them. But I think a lot of blacks think it’s the new norm. However alot of the older black women have ended up with non black partners. Kind of sad though most don’t admit they seek out other races though.

Venus will soon join Serena down the marital aisle of self-hating sell-out bliss. The two top black female athletes in the world both black man haters promoting white supremacy. This is such a bad look for black people it’s just sad….smh

      • You are so right! Some Brothers get a little money and status and act like Black Women don’t exist. You have no control over who you fall in love with – but because it’s okay now to date women of another race – Brothwrs act like having a white Woman on their arm means they’ve arrived or come up! And NO – im not bitter at all!! Been married 34 yrs to a beautiful strong Black Man who treats me land his children like royalty!!

That’s across the board for BOTH black women and men. Black men tend to sell out more than women but it’s still a shame and a bad look either way.

I hate self-hate, but in this case I’m going to give the Williams sisters a “pass” simple because black men have often times criticized them for their looks, their hair, etc., etc. Sometimes, I guess, you like who likes you.

I don’t think I’d characterize Serena as a “Black Man Hater”, because she dated a lot of brothas before she ended up marrying her now husband. Who knows, maybe the men that she’d previously dated just weren’t serious, or interested in being in a long-term, commited relationship? 🤷🏽‍♀️ I just hope she’s happy, and loved…
