I agree that it is very important that fathers are present in their child’s life.
Although I have witnessed single mothers raise successful young boys (and girls), I believe that it is important that children feel loved and learn that love comes with discipline.
As for me, I grew up in a two-parent home and my Dad was the heavier disciplinarian but my Mom was the one who made sure we did our homework. After our homework was completed, we HAD to do a variety of chores that lasted for HOURS. After all those assigned chores were done then we were able to go outside and play/hang with friends.
