NEW YORK (AP) — Beyonce, Jay Z and Solange say they are moving on since a video leaked this week of Solange attacking Jay Z in an elevator.

“As a result of the public release of the elevator security footage from Monday, May 5th, there has been a great deal of speculation about what triggered the unfortunate incident. But the most important thing is that our family has worked through it,” an exclusive statement to The Associated Press said Thursday. “Jay and Solange each assume their share of responsibility for what has occurred. They both acknowledge their role in this private matter that has played out in the public. They both have apologized to each other and we have moved forward as a united family.”

The website TMZ posted the three-minute video Monday and said it was shot last week inside the Standard Hotel in New York City. The video appears to show Solange, Beyonce’s sister, attacking Jay Z in Beyonce’s presence. A security guard intervenes. The footage shows the performers in the outfits they wore to the Met Gala last week. There is no audio.

“The reports of Solange being intoxicated or displaying erratic behavior throughout that evening are simply false,” the statement continued. “At the end of the day families have problems and we’re no different. We love each other and above all we are family. We’ve put this behind us and hope everyone else will do the same.”

The hotel said Wednesday it had fired the person who recorded the video.

Beyonce and Jay Z were married in 2008.

  1. The only thing that can make me go and see the On The Run Show is if Solange is the opening act. Regardless to what the situation was about, she let that negro know that she wasn’t playing with his ass….#teamsolange

  2. I am trying to figure out what this Beyonce, J-Z shit is all about, and what does it have to do with anything important. People have no jobs, no food, safety issues, the world is screwed up and you focus on some bullshit that happened on an elevator. I like looking a the site, but sometimes I think this is BlackBullshit

    • Yep and is where people come to forget about “no jobs, no food, safety issues” AND “this screwed up world for an hour or two a day. Like or not, this is no more than entertainment news. And when this dies down it will be replaced by an equally inane, but entertaining story. Why do you think this site and others like it exist?

Sorry, but something’s up. When stuff comes out about them, they stay quiet til it goes away…stay tuned for about 6 months.

It’s not our business, they didn’t say nothing happened they said they have worked through it. Why are you still trying to dig. What you got going on? Nothing. Who should leave it along is all of us. After the end of the day. Their private lives is that. private. Somewhere along the line some of us got it missed up and think that even after they leave the stage they need to be in that. They have been very generous with the public sharing pics of some of their private life. They should shut it down no more of their private life. Since some like you don’t know when or how to separate what is is private and what is for the public.

Well said it is a private family matter & none of the publics business. Honestly, Solange kept it private b/c she waited until she got on the elevator & was cool when she got off. All families have disputes they are human! Quite frankly they do not have to release what it was about.
