SARASOTA, Fla. (AP)- A Sarasota man faces felony animal cruelty charges after he allegedly poured hot sauce over a 3-month-old puppy.

According to authorities, Ephrian Myles, 47, became irrate when the dog started having a seizure and began yelping.

According to a police report released Sunday, the man’s girlfriend took the Dachshund/Chihuahua mix to a nearby fire department for help.

The puppy’s eyes were swollen shut and it was having trouble breathing before rescuers washed the hot sauce off and helped to revive it.

The girlfriend told investigators that the puppy, named Gizmo, has history of seizures, and Myles became irate when Gizmo started yelping while having a seizure.

  1. This puppy only has seizures because the girlfriend is a drug addict and had people over who stepped on the puppy when it was younger. The mother of the puppy needs to be taken away from the household ASAP because they let her roam free and she will get pregnant again and who knows what will happen to the puppies.
