Emergency 911 calls have brought Los Angeles police officers to the homes of music stars Rihanna and Sean “Diddy” Combs this week, only to find that nothing is wrong.
The prank, known as “swatting,” was played on Diddy Wednesday, as a dozen LAPD cars swooped on the mogul’s LA home after calls that someone was shot inside the house, reports TMZ.
Comedian Steve Carell, who lives next door to Diddy, also had his house locked down because he was a target of the prank as well. Miley Cyrus, who lives on the same block, was also a victim of swatting last year.
LAPD Officer Bruce Borihahn confirmed to The Los Angeles Times on Thursday that Rihanna was also a victim of swatting around 3 p.m. The caller claimed that a person was shot outside the Pacific Palisades home.
No one was hurt in any of the cases and neither Diddy nor RiRi were home at the time. Police are still taking these swatting pranks very seriously as the list of victims continues to grow.
Rihanna’s boyfriend, Chris Brown, was a victim in January. Other victims this year include Kris Jenner and Paris Hilton.
