Desmond Ricks, a Detroit man that spent 25 years in prison after cops allegedly framed him for murder, will get a $7.5 million settlement.

The latest person being added to the exonerated list is 61-year-old Joaquin Ciria, a San Francisco Black man that spent 32 years in prison after being convicted for shooting and killing his friend.

A Chicago man serving 54 years for a gang-related shooting saw his prison sentence come to an end last week after it was discovered that his twin brother committed the murder all along.

A 74-year-old Black woman named Joyce Watkins can attest to being wrongfully convicted of a crime she didn't commit only to be exonerated after spending over two-and-a-half decades behind bars.

43-year-old Devonia Inman was finally able to call himself a free man after spending two-and-a-half decades at Augusta State Medical Prison for a crime he always claimed to be innocent of. 

60-year-old Curtis Crosland of Philadelphia experienced an unfortunately common atrocity after spending over 30 years in prison for a crime he didn't commit, eventually being exonerated with evidence that was on file in the system for just as long as he was behind bars.
