Tamara Mowry Housley and her sister Tia Mowry Hardrict are the products of an interracial marriage. But Mowry Housley, who married a white man, says she gets way more criticism than she expected for her interracial marriage. (Tia, as most know is married to African-American actor Cory Hardrict). She says that her Christian faith has helped her handle the criticism and online haters that have questioned her marriage and husband, Adam Housley with whom she now has two children. The Christian Post reports:When we first came out publicly as a couple 12 years ago, I remember a few negative comments, such as ‘never expected her to be with him,'” she recalled. “But I never expected it to reach this degree of criticism as I got older.”Mowry-Housley married her husband in 2011. During a 2014 appearance on the talk show “Bethenny,” she revealed some methods that she uses to deal with social media critics.“I think maybe because social media is what it is right now,” Mowry-Housely told host Bethenny Frankel, “I have a Twitter account and people feel like they can just come to it and say whatever but I’ve learned to love my block button and I’m just choosing to see the positive side of it. We have more people loving on us than hating on us and we are choosing to focus on that now.”She revealed that people’s negative comments impacted her so deeply because her parents, a black mother and white father, had to experience similar struggles.

“I was actually hurt because my parents had experienced it way back in the day and I was hurt because we as a community have come so far and we fight against it all the time,” she said on the show. “I was hurt that people still felt that way but the opposite way, you see what I’m saying?”

However, Mowry-Housley said prayer has helped her overcome the ordeal.

“So if anything, I was devastated, hurt, and like I said I’m just going to pray and look at the positive,” she said

Yes, let us all ignore history and all the current events of the murder and abuse of this racially motivated society, as long as “you” feel good that is all that matters. Don’t take a stand that might actually be worthwhile, just cover your eyes and feel good about what is going on in your own little bubble. Whether it’s Emmit Till, Sandra Bland, or some little Black girl at a swimming pool, let us be more concerned about the mulatto girl from a forgotten cheesy sitcom that has never contributed much of anything to the Black community anyway… Priorities people. Bigger picture. smh :/

    • What do you say to all the black women who are brutalized, killed and abused by our black brothers? Do they hate all blacks because of the actions of others? Black men have killed, abused and used white women and black women and white men have done the same. If in no other, all races are the same in that respect. No race is superior to any other when it comes to the way we treat each other. If we refused to get involved with everyone who has ever done anything to harm someone else, we’d perish, because no one is exempt. Ignore history? Take a stand? Don’t forget “my sista” the first slave owner was one of your black brothas’. SMDH.

Lady Live your life and love who you love. No one is blind to the rascist hatred in this world. You went with your heart and married the man you love. You didn’t choose to be with someone to please society, black or white people, family, friends etc.. That’s the way it should be done. It doesn’t mean you are blind to rascism or that you don’t fight against it. That’s what’s wrong with this world. People are so full of hate and look how well that’s worked out for all of us the world over.

Pure ignorance!!! Who cares if she married a white man? That is her business and no one else’s. That is who she fell in love with so who cares what the color of his skin so happens to be? When, if ever, will we evolve?
