Just ahead of their three night biopic mini-series on BET, beginning Tuesday night at 9 p.m., Ronnie, Bobby, Ricky, Ralph, Mike and Johnny of New Edition were awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame.

The Boston-born group, which made the enduring hits “Candy Girl,” “Mr. Telephone Man,” “You’re Not My Kind Of Girl” and “Can You Stand The Rain” has managed to remain a brotherhood despite the early departure of singer Bobby Brown and the addition of Johnny Gill, among other dramas documented in the BET biopic.

Fans and celebrities alike congratulated the group, which appeared at the ceremony with Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis and BET executives Stephen Hill and Debra Lee.
