MOSCOW (AP) — The Kremlin has not collected compromising information about U.S. President-elect Donald Trump, President Vladimir Putin’s spokesman declared Wednesday, deriding the report as a “complete fabrication and utter nonsense.”

“This is an evident attempt to harm our bilateral ties,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters in Moscow. “The Kremlin does not engage in collecting compromising information.”

A U.S. official told The Associated Press on Tuesday that intelligence officials had informed Trump about an unsubstantiated report that Russia had compromising personal and financial information about him. The official spoke on the condition of anonymity because the official was not allowed to publicly discuss the matter.

After news reports were published about the briefing, Trump tweeted: “FAKE NEWS – A TOTAL POLITICAL WITCH HUNT!”

Peskov dismissed the report on compromising information on Trump but commented that the allegations could be used to keep American politicians from wanting to improve ties with Russia.

“We should treat it with humor, but there is a sad side to it too,” he said. “There are people who are whipping up this frenzy, who are doing their best to keep this witch hunt going.”

Peskov described the report as part of efforts to “keep harming the relations, not allow anyone to think about whether this is in the interests of both countries, the interests of the global community and what can be done to move from a total confrontation to a more constructive approach.”

Konstantin Kosachev, chairman of the foreign affairs committee in the upper chamber of Russia’s parliament, was mentioned in the report as a key figure in the “Trump campaign-Kremlin liaison operation” who allegedly met with Trump’s lawyer in Prague.

“Concerning me, there is not a single word of truth in this so-called report,” Kosachev said in a post on his Facebook page, denying meeting the lawyer or visiting the Czech Republic in recent years.

“Such gaffes lead me to believe that either the report was compiled by provocateurs who have no information and just make it up by putting in the names of real people — or U.S. intelligence should all hand in their resignations in the light of such poor quality of their work.”

Russian state television provided a muted coverage of the report, dismissing it as fake and pointing to its release timed to President Barack Obama’s final speech in Chicago.

“The release would help Obama to slam the door even louder,” Rossiya 24 television said. Noting that different sections of the report were written in different typefaces “it does not look like it was compiled by professionals,” Rossiya 24 said.

At the Russian parliament, LDPR party leader Vladimir Zhirinovsky on Wednesday defended the U.S. president-elect.

“This is just another attempt to derail relations between Russia and the U.S,” he said. “Trump has earned an honest living in the U.S. and no one will be able to find fault with him. He has never been involved in any dubious dealings, and we do not have anything bad on him.”

In Russia in general, however, blurry videos of highly placed men in unsavory sexual acts and audio recordings of influential figures profanely insulting their nominal allies appear often enough that there’s a special word for them: kompromat, or “compromising material.”

And when such compromising material shows up in Russia, it often supports Kremlin interests or comes via media believed to have close ties to Putin.

Those hit by such material include Victoria Nuland, an assistant U.S. Secretary of State; former Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov; former Russian prosecutor general Yuri Skuratov and the assassinated Russian opposition leader Boris Nemtsov.

Just saying, I’m not looking for accolades, nor does the Scholar take delight in calling out the weak minded among us. But it must be done in order to have constructive dialog and press forward on the core issues that degrade out communities and quality of life. The frail of mind and spirit will look outward for root causes, police, white privilege, slavery, etc… They, by choice, or blind faith, will ignore the decaying black infrastructure, that we alone are responsible for. Black teenagers with the highest pregnancy rate in the world, highest HS drop out rate, unemployment, drug addiction, crime, single parent households, dependency on social welfare programs, don’t value education. I could go on, but it starts to depress me. We have failed as a race in a country where immigrants come with less than us, and surpass blacks in mere years. President Trump has laid out plans to make inroads on all of these issues in time, but the haters turn their back. Content to wallow in poverty and crime, rather than give credit and support to a rich white man.
I’m reminded of the movie, “The Blind Side:, where a wealthy, philanthropic, white family reached out and took in Michael Orr (Baltimore Ravens). Taught him the value of education, self respect, hard work, and what a real family structure can accomplish. It is a true story and a wonderful movie, yet it never was featured in black theaters. Why? Because we didn’t want to see or acknowledge white people succeeding where we couldn’t. We would have preferred Mr. Orr fail among us, rather than succeed with whites. Think about the sickness of that for a moment. It’s unfathomable, yet it’s exactly how many blacks are treating President Trump. They’d rather see this country fail, than it succeed under a white. Look for the telltale signs from these haters, “Trump is racist, hates women, Muslims, blacks, orange Hitler, pu@@y grabber, slut wife, etc….” They are easy to spot, live a sad pathetic existence, and will continue to do so, because they’ll be dammed if whitey will get credit for helping them. Though they gladly accept whiteys welfare check every month.

  1. Two years ago Russia hacks the WH and State Department, what did Obama do? Nothing. Remember the debate with Romney, when Obama and the left laughed when Romney said that Russia was our greatest geo-political threat. Do you remember Obama mocking him with: “The 1980’s are now calling for their foreign policy back…because the cold war has been overseer 20 years.” OR, how about when Sara Palin predicted Russia would invade Ukraine because of a weak Obama. Then she was mocked for something she never said.

Putin the leader of Russia was first a leader of the KGB.

It is basic spy tradecraft and just plain common sense that of course after only releasing negative information about Hillary to help Trump get into offfice the Russians must have negative information on Trump that they can use to blackmail him to make him do what they want when he is in office.

The Russians need that negative information on Trump to blackmail him to help be sure that the Russian investment in the hacking operation and the risks and costs to Russian from being caught hacking will payoff in Trump doing what they want by having leverage on Trump in case they need it.

  3. So The Don say’s to Hillary “ I’ll see your liberal Hollywood elitist celeb’s and rise you
a Russian DNC and John Podesta e-mail hack”

  4. Chump should be charged with TREASON for his relationship with Russia’s Putin!!!!!!!!!

I would not be at all surprised if Putin did have some “dirt” on Chump. That would be good for blackmailing him!!!!!!!
