So, this happened…

A University of Texas chapter of The Young Conservatives hosted an “Affirmative Action Bake Sale” on the Austin campus and asked that students buy cookies and discuss Affirmative Action as a policy. Taking it a step further, they listed sale prices according to race and gender:

Asian male $1.50

Asian female $1.25

White male $1.00

White female $.75

African American male $.50

African American female $.25

Hispanic male $.50

Hispanic female $.25

Native American FREE

For obvious reasons, many students didn’t take too kindly to the racially fueled bake sale and began protesting. When the protest ended, some students even yelled “Check your privilege!” and more at The Young Conservatives group.

See footage above – it got really real.

  1. It’s amazing how folks forget they’ve been given affirmative foot up and still don’t get it. They forget their cousins who stole this Country and gave there European
Brothers land for nothing to expand Midwest and West ! Plus land grant college to show them how to farm ! This went on all into the 20th century giving these people a huge advantage in accumulated wealth! But not to minorities.

Yes Beautiful there are people in this world with a heart. They just don’t get the same press as those who don’t. Shame

Much ado about nothing. I say that because we can scream and holler all we want but if the individual(s) do not want to change, they won’t.

  4. People are so ignorant and say ignorant things about different nationalities. God created us in his image so there are no mistakes. When you talk about people you talking about God. So you better be careful.

  5. This is no different than the schools own admission and tuition policy. Hispanics and blacks pay significantly less to attend the school. I don’t see any outrage at that policy

    • I’m black and my daughter went to The University of San Francisco and she received her Masters in Sports Management and her tuition was not any different than white students so I disagree with your comment. Not all minorities get lower tuition. She owes a lot of money.

If you’re going to claim this, then bring the proof, and not some bullshit you got from those brain dead Yahoo’s over at Fox news.

L…the price of the cupcakes was all you got out of this? LOL…Sounds like a sarcastic way to show their frustration…whatever, if its offensive, don’t buy one…

What else was there to get from the article? It says they wanted to have a discussion about AA but what dialogue did they think would come from this. If they are frustrated they need to find another way to express that rather than disrespect other races. Just walkin past and not buying one is not enough…

  7. Hmmm, I wonder why the prices were lower for those identified as minorities????

White folks are really getting out of pocket these days. They need to check themselves before things get UGLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    TIME FOR A REVOLUTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
