Wow, talk about being candid. Bobby Brown brought the real in his interview with Robin Roberts tonight on ABC’s 20/20.

The solo artist and New Edition singer kept it 100, saying in his upcoming memoir, Every Little Step, that he first saw Whitney Houston doing drugs on their wedding day, before the ceremony.

Brown writes he broke tradition and peeked in on Houston and was “shocked” to witness her “hunched over a bureau snorting a line of coke.”

He says Whitney offered him a hit, but claims he didn’t accept. He goes on to say that she was doing it because she said she ‘nervous.”

“She wasn’t that,” an emotional Brown told Roberts. “The drugs wasn’t her. She did drugs but drugs didn’t do her. She knew how to handle herself. It only made me love and want to protect her more.”

For some folks Brown’s revelation account refutes previous claims that it was Brown who led Houston to heavy drug use.

“It wasn’t me who started her,” Brown says. “I take my part and I take it hard for me even being a part of it, but we all have our own minds and some of us are stronger than others.”

People.com reports that Brown admits to hitting Houston and that Bobbi Kristina was set to relocate to Los Angeles just two days before she was found unresponsive in her Atlanta home.

People.com reports:

In addition to a volatile romance, which ended in 2006 when Houston filed for divorce, Brown said that he and the pop star had devolved into a pattern of drug abuse. Brown and Houston would lock themselves in one wing of their mansion, getting high while nannies cared for their daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown just rooms over.

“I always made it a point to not let her see me or my wife in that type of situation,” he insisted, though. “It’s hard when you’re doing it everyday, it’s really hard.”

In his book, according to 20/20, Brown cites cocaine, alcohol and crack-laced joints as his substances of choice.

“The last few years of our marriage it was terrible,” he explained. “Both of us trying to be clean, or one of us trying to be clean… it was terrible.”

Of involving Bobbi Kristina, Brown admitted, “We could have been better. We should have been better.”

Bobby Brown and Whitney Houston were married for 15 years. In his interview with ABC, he tells Roberts he’s still deeply in love with Houston.

“For the rest of my life, I will have that feeling towards her because she was the one person that knew me – that one person who had no judgement.”

Brown also opens up about his daughter Bobbi Kristina’s drug abuse – which lead to her death on July 26, 2015, nearly six months after she was found unresponsive in a bathtub in her Roswell, Georgia, home.

“The same thing that happened to my daughter, it happened to Whitney,” he tells Roberts. “The hardest thing I had to do in my life was tell my daughter to let go.”

Sadly, Brown says that Bobbi Kristina had agreed to move to Los Angeles.

Brown also revealed that his daughter was set to relocate to Los Angeles to live closer to him just two days before the incident.

“The two days before what happened to my daughter, she was to come out here to Los Angeles to me,” Brown said, fighting back tears. “If I could get those two days back… my daughter would be here. All I want is those two days back.”

While he hasn’t yet visited Houston and Bobbi Kristina’s graves, Brown said, “They’re with me, they’re here.”
