Kirk Franklin continues to blur the lines between gospel and hip hop, perhaps going as farther than he’s ever gone before in busting out with the Milly Rock during a gospel concert.

And if that’s not hip hop enough, he did the Milly Rock to his “Kirk Franklin and the Family” single “Melodies From Heaven” remixed over the beat from Lil Kim’s “Crush On You.”

Watch below:

Go Kirk!

I should have known not to read these comments smh. Ole uppity, judgmental, so called “SAVED” church folks. The very kind I’d rather do without. If anything some these comments pushes people away from Christ not Kirk praising and rejoicing in the Lord!! People who live in glass houses . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . you know the rest. Go on Kirk, keep doing you. 😄

I should have known not to look at these comments smh. Ole uppity, judgmental, so called “SAVED” church folks. The very kind I’d rather do without. 3. Hand gestures of slapping backsides and whipping cocaine and he knows good and well what they mean. Hey Kirk can I do that behind your wife? I won’t touch her but can I dance like that behind her into the Lord I’m sure he’d be delighted just as he was with your powerful demonstration I’m sure that’s got demons all over the globe trembling. He’s a joke for this pending his interview explaining this and it had better be a good one!

  4. Sad. Folks always use judgement as an excuse to allow “Christian leaders” to conform to the world and it’s supposed to just be all good as long as we don’t judge him. The bible said be not conformed and it appears to me that if a “man of God” watched a video of a hip hop artist singing a song about his gun shooting on any block with a catchy dance on it then why is it acceptable for him to try to mix gospel music with this worldy dance? I guess next Mary Mary can twerk before the lord as long as it brings more people to the lord or wait does it bring more Christians to the world? As a Christian you do what Jesus would do yes you fall but that was not falling that was willing conformity to gain popularity as if God really need your help that bad to allow him to do that in his name. I guess he can go back to porn just say it’s unto the Lord man please!

  5. He is walking a very fine and dangerous line. Those songs for those dances have absolutely nothing to do with the heavens. A lot of these gospel artists now are walking that same line. I Consider their music more inspirational contemporary not exactly gospel. Nothing against any of their success with what they do, but if you say gospel I think Shirley Caesar. I remember being in a club very very long ago and the dj put “Stomp” on and we all jumped off the dance floor. If a dj in a club thinks it’s okay to play your song in the club, I’m voting he doesn’t consider that song gospel

It’s very clear that many do NOT study the Holy Bible. Just because Bro. Franklin “chooses” to use secular music and “turn up” doesn’t mean it’s right. At the end of the day, he is simply a man. God always calls for His people to separate themselves from the world: “Wherefore come out from among them and be ye separate saith the Lord and touch not the unclean thing and I will receive you.” (2 Corinthians 6:17)

There must be a clear distinction between holy and unholy. Remember, the Bible says, “Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.” (1 John 2:15)

As for David, yes he did dance before the Lord but did his praise glorify God or did it glorify the world?

Be very careful about who you listen to & emulate.

  8. Most gospel singers are hip hop wannabes anyway. Including this little big headed boy. Only thing that keeps him from jumping in whole hog is that he can’t sing. He’s good at jumping around and talking along to the music, but he needs a choir for vocals. However, this is the first time I’ve seen him air humping on stage. Collaborating with Dumbye? Who’s surprised that he’s on stage doing the hump? He’ll only get hip hoppier. After all that’s what people go to church to see these days. I’ve seen videos of people dancing like skrippers in church pews. Got to give the people what they want.

Nobody has a heaven or a hell to put Kirk Franklin in! So quit being judgmental! All I know is Kirk Franklin’s TYION concert was simply uplifting and amazing! We sung, we danced, we cried, we clapped our hands, and we worshipped! To God be the glory!

I don’t think you know where that dance came from? The dance came from the block, which promotes illegal activities. Why would a so called man of good be promoting that? Kirk when doing that dance, he whips it “making like he is stirring a pot” that dance comes from making crack cocain. So Kirk, if this about you or bringing souls to Christ?

  11. People who hate Kirk always make something out of nothing. Kirk is not doing anything derogatory. I didn’t even know a slap your butt dance existed. Kirk keep praising God and continue to compel souls to Christ.

Hate is such a strong word. this is a character issue. I am not. neither denying his faith in God nor how he practices his religion but if you put yourself out as a leader there is a higher standard. The people the you lead to Christ see you as an example. So until they know God for themselves Kirk is their example. Be careful of who you follow. God will use anyone to lead you to Him but by the way of the spirit will lead you to the right path. With his hand gestures and his body language you can clearly see what he is doing. Like I said in my previous posting if it would have been a woman standing in front of him your comment would be totally different . So he very well could have been having a spiritual moment but whatever happened to raising your hands in the air and falling to your knees to praise God. So if we claim that we are Christians there are checks and balances to determine how far we are and how much we need to learn to mature in our ways. So some may people call it placing judgment on others but I don’t because I never called him out his name nor called him a hypocrite.

To this I just say, you have to know God for yourself, the bible is our life’s guide you can chose to follow it or not, that’s what free will is all about. Be careful WHO you chose to follow.

Even though he is having fun and dancing don’t be deceived. Satan is very tricky. If there was a woman standing in front of him your comments would be different because of his body language and hand gestures. Just like when he collaborated on a song with Kanye West no one saw nothing wrong with it. Remember satan is tricky. Kanye is a person that is against God he states it in his music so why would Kirk side with him in is music. People don’t be deceived by what you see. No one is perfect but it takes a fool to be fooled. Provebs 10:23 “A fool finds pleasure in wicked schemes, but a person of understanding delights in wisdom.” I not trying to say anything bad about the man but it is what it is if you choose to see beyond by your faith. So by the measurement of your faith is what you choose to see and believe.

David danced for God after the ark of God was brought to Jerusalem. Read 2nd Samuel 6:1-22. David was a sinner, yes he was, but he never made excuses for his wrong doing. David actually wrote most of the Book of Psalms, begging God for Mercy and Grace. Don’t ever compare Kirk Franklin to King David!!! Not that Kirk Franklin is OK, but he is not on the level of King David. God PICKED David. For many for chose for few are called…

Ok… so is he resting his vocals by just dancing? He’s just trying to let people know that he still has his street and circular card 🙂
