Horoscopes for the week of August 31st

As we move into the final week of Venus Retrograde, it will be important to take stock of any lessons learned. You may recall that a planet in retrograde motion gives the illusion of orbiting the Sun in reverse, and when this occurs, an in depth review process begins that sees us looking more intently at ourselves. Venus governs love and money in Astrology, so the effects of its backspin have forced many of us to examine what is of importance in matters of the heart, as well as when it comes to our own sense of personal security.
Venus turned retrograde on July 25th. Aside from a couple of days in the sign of Virgo, the course of its transit has occurred entirely in the sign of Leo. Leo is a fiery energy that loves hard and to a fault. Venus in Leo shows grand gestures of courtship and affection without much temperance, and this regal sign often fails to notice a partner’s quirks and foibles. It is as if the big cat doesn’t want to acknowledge that their partner is (dare I say it) flawed, preferring to savor the dance of love. Enter Venus retrograde to give us pause to determine if what seems like an ideal investment is actually worth pursuing.

Many folks have fallen head over heels, only to have the rug pulled out from underneath their ruby slippers. Venus soon to be direct will make love and the potential of material gains happy and exciting again, only this time with a keen awareness and understanding of how we will benefit. Once Venus returns to the sign of Virgo on October 23rd, the practicality of relationships will come into sharper focus.
