Whoopi Goldberg is not here for Kanye West’s comments surrounding Beck’s win for Album of the Year. Today on The View, Whoopi and the panel dished last night’s awards and addressed Kanye pulling a well, Kanye on Beck for not giving his award to Beyoncé . Outgoing host Rosie O’Donnell praised ‘Ye for performing “Only One” earlier in the night and was dismayed by the rapper’s remarks over Beck gaining the top prize of the night. Whoopi didn’t find West’s actions cute and decided to dress him down for his antics. Ms. G stated:

As an artist, Kanye, you know what it’s like when somebody questions your artistry. Now, I don’t know if you listened to Beck’s album, but it was pretty damn good, I just want to say. And Beyoncé collecting three Grammys and I think it’s kind of rough to say ‘real artists’ like he’s not a real artist. Everybody on that stage was a real artist, honey. This is one of the few places where you can’t just you know, get up o and do what ya’ll do.

watch the video below.

Earlier today, West was confronted by paparazzi  in a New York City airport along with wifey Kim Kardashian and baby North about his criticism of Beck. West used the opportunity to clarify his comments where he claimed:

I wasn’t saying Beck, I said the Grammys. Beck knows that Beyoncé should have won.

Sounds like Yeezus got a call from someone to tone down his antics. Later another shutterbug tried to be funny and ask West if he’d heard of Beck, resulting in him firing back:

Come on, man. I love Beck. But he didn’t have Album of the Year.

  1. The reason ignorant people like Kane keep on being famous, is because we keep on watching them. If we would stop giving them the spot light they would be nothing. Kane is trash just like the chicken head he has for a wife. I don’t understand the fascination. Money does not give you class, and these role prove it. Getto trash.

So sad to see the comments turning this into a race issue and trashing Beyonce about stuff Kanye did and said. This is solely about self-centered, jackass named Kanye……….period. He’s a mean little bully having nothing to do with race or the person he claims to be defending.

  3. kanye needs to go away, he cant sing anyway. he must have a crush on beyonce cant jay z see that
kim is just his parrot on his shoulder. go away kanye.

  4. As is always the case with you, Mr West, the smart has a tendency to be accompanied by a little bit of stupid. You can’t, sir, have forgotten about the fact that during her Glastonbury Festival performance in 2008, Amy Winehouse referred to you not once, not twice, but three times as a “cunt” — and not in that goofy British having-a-laugh kind of way. She meant it. You must remember it because you blogged about it at the time and said “Amy Winehouse Hates Me!!! Now I’ve Really Made It!!! LOL!!!”

So it seems odd that you would decide to, in the event of her death, start covering Amy’s music. At a recent UK festival, The Big Chill, you did renditions of “Back To Black” and “Tears Dry On Their Own”, and now Britain’s Daily Mirror newspaper is reporting that you are recording your own version of “Back To Black”.

We want to believe that your heart is in the right place and the sentiment is sweet. Who knows? Maybe you really do think you’re paying tribute to her. But wouldn’t it be more appropriate to do what Green Day has reportedly just done, and write an original song for her?

The fact is, Kanye, even though you said you met Amy at Paris Fashion Week once and that you really liked her, she did repeatedly tell the world she thought you were a cunt. So perhaps it would be more respectful, now she’s no longer around to call you a cunt again, to leave her music alone. As talented and creative as you are, you are not going to make any improvements to a song that is already perfect. To even try to carries with it a little bit of disrespect under the circumstances.

This is not the dumbest thing you’ve ever done (we, MTV, Taylor Swift and the rest of the world all know full well what that was), but it’s not your usual level of buffoonery, either. Usually, Kanye, your lack of awareness is hilarious (“Fur pillows are hard to actually sleep on” remains one of our favorite Tweets of all time), but this time, you’re leaving us with nothing to smile about at all.

So, congratulations on keeping us confused, and massive congratulations on the new album. But please, Kanye, please leave Amy Winehouse’s music alone. We’d all be much obliged.

Maybe Jay Z should tell Kanye to keep his wife’s name out of his mouth. I’m sure that he could defend his wife if need be. That way Kanye would be afraid to go on another rant about Beyoncé. We know that Kim can’t keep him from ranting about Beyoncé or anything else. Why is he so infatuated with Beyoncé anyway?

Beyonce wouldn’t even be my second runner up from the list of top album. Ed Sheeran’s album was a lot better than Beyonce’s album. But everyone has an opinion. And Kanye’s opinion isn’t the deciding factor of awards. He as been called out for taking other peoples music (samples) and making them his own. Everyone has a different opinion to what “artistry” is and what is “good music”.

  7. Whop is showing her ignorance; West was not talking about BECK; he was talking about African Americans, reading is fundamental.

“I don’t know what he said, all I know is if the Grammys want real artists to keep coming back, they need to stop playing with us. Us being African Americans being real artist.

  8. Kanye needs to just sit down somewhere and STFU!

I’m so tired of seeing photos of him and that wife of his and that half-breed kid.
As far as talent is concerned-I never really saw all that much in Kanye.
There are so many better “artists” than him on the music scene.

He simply showed his arrogance and a total lack of respect for the other people who were receiving Grammys.

This is what happens when your EGO runs amok!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For someone who claims to be so smart, he does not act very smart. Who made him the judge of all things. If Bey ain’t upset, then why is he? Boy bye!!

“Come on, man. I love Beck. But he didn’t have Album of the Year” You love Beck? Wow that’s that BS…

Beyonce, Cyrus etc glorified pole dancers. Kanye? Could not hold a candle to the Motown, 70’s rock from Beatles, Zeppelin, To Santana etc plus 50 others from that era. Yes it is subjective but this stuff today is high school talent contest and passed on as musical genius. Kids today are ripped off and don’t even know it.
