At first there was the offensive Ray Rice costume this Halloween season, now someone has hung a Black family in effigy outside of his or her home on the Fort Campbell U.S. Army base, which straddles the borders of Kentucky and Tennessee, according to a report at ClarksvilleNow.

Base officials ordered the removal of the display, which reportedly showed a Black family hanging from a tree. An illegible sign was attached to what appears to be the Father figure, while a small child clung to his ankles.

ClarksvilleNow reports:

Brendalyn Carpenter with [the Fort Campbell] Public Affairs said they received a report of a Halloween decoration that was “offensive in nature” and contacted authorities to investigate. The occupant was informed of the concerns made by the community and removed the display.

Carpenter said it was her understanding that the display was not intended to be offensive, but authorities deemed it could be interpreted as such. She said the occupant did extend an apology about the decorations.

“Displays of an offensive nature are not reflective of Army values and the family-friendly environment provided for employees and residents of the Fort Campbell community,” Carpenter said.

Thank goodness Halloween is almost over. What began as an ancient pagan festival for the dead appears to be turning into more of a cover for racists to show their true colors and then pretend like they didn’t know they were being offensive. Unbelievable!

  1. How can America say it is the greatest country in the world, and treat black people with such hatred and respect? This country should be ashamed and embarrassed to have other countries see their behavior towards black people, past and present.

  2. This is also why I stop pledging allegiance to the flag, because there isn’t “liberty and justice” for all; not to mention respect!

The pledge of allegiance should be changed to state: “Liberty and justice for white people only!”

Funny how white is always telling black folks to put it behind you and everything is not racist etc….Yet, they are ones with shit like this and they really think apologies resolve it…They hung, man, woman and child all black with a baby holding his father’s legs and somehow this was not intended to offend no one? That apology smells like a fart directed at black people. I personally, believe black folks should not have to be drafted into the isn’t like we have the same rights and freedom nor justice. We should have to fight along this person?.. they clearly could careless about man, woman, child or baby that is black…And the military knows good and damn well what the signs says, they just do not want to make it public.

  4. These people knew exactly what they were doing! Then America is so quick to say it is not racist, or you’re playing the “race card.”

And apologizing after you get caught is “tired.”

WOW! But on the other hand there are people in the military and members of law enforcement agencies that have that kind of hate. DANGEROUS!
