Two-year-old Kamiya French was shot and killed at point-blank range by a man seeking retaliation against her father, reports the NY Daily News.

Kamiya was sitting on a porch in Inkster, Michigan last Tuesday night with her father Kenneth French, 34, and family friend Chelsea Lancaster, 12, when Raymone Bernard Jackson, 24, approached and fatally shot her in the head before turning his gun on her father and Chelsea.

Both of them are expected to survive.

According to authorities, Bernard wanted Kamiya’s execution to be the “last thing [her father] saw.”

Though the horrific slaying has been called “retaliation,” police spokesperson  Lt. Michael Shaw rejects that characterization:

“I wouldn’t call it retaliation. Retaliation for what? Take somebody’s life away for retaliation? I mean, just to mention that as part of a motive is silliness to me,” he said. “I can’t wrap my head around anything that would make me want to walk up to a small child sitting next to a porch, point a pistol at their head, and shoot them dead. I can’t give you a motive. I can’t wrap my head around that.”

The news is getting more horrific everyday, I’m totally bugged out hearing something so tragic, then the culprit will want to sit up in court and apologize to the family and expect a lean sentence!
