George Zimmerman is begging for a beat down.

Zimmerman, who was acquitted of second-degree murder last year in the shooting death of unarmed teenager Trayvon Martin, is planning to enter a celebrity boxing match for charity and is waiting for a worthy opponent.

If ever there was a person who should shun the limelight and fade into the shadows, it’s George Zimmerman. This is a man who said he was forced to wear a bullet proof vest because he believed people were trying to kill him.

“He never feels safe,” Mark O’Mara, his former lawyer, told Fox News last year. “His security has been cut and he stays inside his secure location all day long due to threats.”

So now he intentionally makes himself a target because the coast is clear?

There are many people who feel that while Zimmerman was acquitted of killing Trayvon Martin, he’s not innocent. Zimmerman profiled Martin and shot him even though Martin was not carrying a weapon and the case set off a heated national debate about race in America and underscored the stereotypes of black men.

Zimmerman has to live his life, I get that, but it’s the way he chooses to live it that is troubling. It also seems to me that celebrity boxing, even for charity, is disrespectful to Tracy Martin and Sybrina Fulton – the parents of Trayvon Martin – because Zimmerman continues to introduce violence into his high-profile lifestyle, which is a constant reminder of the violence he unleashed on Trayvon Martin.

There are so many paths that Zimmerman could take, yet he chooses the vicious sport of boxing to keep himself relevant, in the public eye — and in the news. Zimmerman likes being known as a so-called celebrity, but in reality, he’s just a would-be cop with a gun who shot an unarmed teenager who was carrying a bag of Skittles.

Violence follows Zimmerman wherever he goes. He was arrested last year on domestic violence charges, but the charges were dropped after his girlfriend withdrew her complaint.

Meanwhile, the line to fight Zimmerman is apparently growing for the March 1 boxing match. Potential challengers are advised to contact organizers by email at, and promoter Damon Feldman said Zimmerman would even fight a black person.

“We’re not looking at it as a race thing,” Feldman said. “We haven’t discussed purple, yellow, white, black.”

One possible black challenger – rapper The Game — said he would beat Zimmerman senseless.

“I would not be boxing for me,” The Game told TMZ. “I’d be boxing for the legacy of Trayvon Martin and for his family.”

“I would box him to knock him out,” said The Game, who has a tattoo of Trayvon Martin on his leg. “I would definitely take pleasure in it. It’s legal, and I want to show him you can solve your disputes without a weapon.”

Rapper DMX admitted that if he got the chance to enter the ring with Zimmerman, he would not fight fair.

“I am going to beat the living f**k out him,” DMX said. “I am breaking every rule in boxing to make sure I f**k him right up.”

Even James Brown, the popular sports commentator for CBS Sports, weighed in: “I don’t think George would want any parts of me.”

Zimmerman claims he has been boxing for a while.

“Boxing isn’t new to me,” Zimmerman told Radar Online, adding that he is boxing for charity.

“I’d love to tell you [the charity] but unfortunately there’s so much animosity still from people out there, that if I name the charity now they would get bombarded with negativity, so I’d rather not,” Zimmerman said. “I’ll leave it up to them to say if they want it to be publicized or not. But I will tell you that it’s an animal rescue.”

Zimmerman also hinted that he may not box again after the charity match.

“Obviously, if I get my butt kicked around, then no!” he told Radar Online.

One can only hope.

Corey if you were to check the welfare rolls, it has been proven there are more whites on welfare that blacks. Get your facts before posting untrths.

Please don’t give JanCorey the time of day. The money that is to be collected should go to the Martin Family for restitution.

I would not give Zimmerman the satisfaction of making $1.00. And who really believe this money will go to a charity. He is trying to make a buck………get a life.

  7. It’s a shame that people in our society value the lives of animals more than they value the lives of our African American youth. George Zimmerman is promoting himself as a celebrity – and he would not be able to do this if he was where he belongs (in prison) – this fight is being created to raise money for him or someone he’s associated with – whoever decides to fight this idiot should be cautious because – he is a ticking time bomb waiting to explode again – this is another avenue to promote himself as an important person in society. He really need to learn the meaning of humility.

Zimmerman refuses to name the charity because he knows the proceeds will go to him. He says it is an animal rescue charity. The Zimmerman is an animal rescued by soft jurors charity. Don’t fall for it people. It’s just another scheme for Zimmerman to make quick easy cash at our expense and to keep himself “relevant.”

Had to laugh when I saw this one. First, exactly what makes Zimmerman classify himself a “celebrity”, and second, I suppose he’s forgotten that he couldn’t even whip a 17 year old kid without having to pull out a gun. What does he consider a “worthy” opponent? A 5 year old?

  10. The headline should read “George Zimmerman thinks the black community has forgotten”. When I used to provoke my older cousins for no reason – they would often say “keep it up”. This meant I would eventually get what was coming to me. EOM

I agree Jay, the black community has forgotten, at least the ones that have any intelligence. While they almost all are welfare recipients, maybe it’s time to address their ignorance and their failures in today’s schools. Course, the blacks do support the correctional-world of the other races to give other races jobs to baby-sit the blacks in correctional institutions and prisons.

Thank you so very much Mr. Zimmerman for eliminating that threat from that drug-head-wanna-be-gangsta-Trayvon, you truly are a hero (to educated people).

Don’t give in to trolls Jason. Some people seem to need a bit of attention in a lame attempt to validate themselves.

    • Ivan Cohen on said:

In the boxing ring, “Mr. Zimmerman” won’t be able to repeat his “elimination” feat. The “hero” will be carried out on a stretcher.

      • JanCorey on said:

Turns out Ivan, you have been proven to be wrong once again. But, don’t worry, your bound to get one right someday. May God continue to bless our hero George Zimmerman.
