Jay Z and Beyonce say they plan to rid meat and animal products from their diets — at least until Christmas.

“Psychologists have said it takes 21 days to make or break a habit. On the 22nd day, you’ve found the way,” Hov wrote Tuesday on his Life + Times blog. “On December 3, one day before my 44th birthday, I will embark on a 22 Days challenge to go completely vegan, or as I prefer to call it, plant-based! This all began a few months back when a good friend and vegan challenged me to embrace a ‘plant-based breakfast’ every day. It was surprisingly easier on me than I thought.”

The mogul then explained why he waited until now to practice veganism.

“There’s something spiritual to me about it being my 44th birthday and the serendipity behind the number of days in this challenge; 22 (2+2=4) coupled with the fact that the challenge ends on Christmas Day,” he wrote. “It just feels right!”

Jay Z added that this will be “a spiritual and physical cleanse” of sorts. He promised to post his progress and asked longtime vegans for restaurant tips.

“I don’t know what happens after Christmas. A semi-vegan, a full plant-based diet? Or just a spiritual and physical challenge? We’ll see.”

He ended the post by confirming that his wife of five years is also on board. “B is also joining me,” he said.

It’s a cleanse!!! That’s great!! I had read on another blog that Jay was doing the “King’s Cleanse & Beyonce was doing its counterpart the “Goddess Body Cleanse” . They herbal based and instruct to consume a plant based diet for the duration.. I found the website where they’re available!!! http://www.GoddessBody.org

  2. I wouldn’t call trying it for 22 days vegan particularly if it’s just the diet and not the whole lifestyle (so ‘spiritual’ when only doing it for personal benefit), that’s just a ‘diet’ whilst being overall omnivore and then they stop just in time for Xmas which is weak. More like attention grabbing and just in time to beat the ‘news years resolutions’ announcements.
