“American Idol” is out with the old and in with the new. First to leave is veteran judge Randy Jackson.

Today, the 56-year-old record producer announced that the current twelfth season of “Idol” will be his final go around.

“Yo! Yo! Yo! To put all of the speculation to the rest, after 12 years of judging on ‘American Idol’ I have decided it is time to leave after this season,” he said in a statement.

“I am very proud of how we forever changed television and the music industry,” he added. “It’s been a life changing opportunity but I am looking forward to focusing on my company Dream Merchant 21 and other business ventures.”

As we reported earlier, none of the show’s current judges have been asked to return next season. With the lowest ratings in “American Idol” history, producers are attempting to recover their core audience by doing a complete makeover.
