Apparently not enough of you all out there are buying BeBe Winans’ book about Whitney Houston, so he has released another excerpt in order to entice you to stop playing and add his literary work to your Kindle, iPad, or I don’t know, hands. Whatever, the excerpt has BeBe saying “Don’t Blame Bobby Brown” for Whitney’s problems. Yeah, that’s a familiar story arc, but look, he knew them so run with it, okay?

Here goes the excerpt courtesy of Rhymes With Snitch:

“Whitney never blamed Bobby for her troubles. Neither should we. I know Bobby. I knew him even before he and Whitney began seeing each other. Like any big brother, I had my concerns about the two of them together.”

“You don’t want just anyone to take your sister in marriage. You set high, high, high expectations. The bar sits in the stratosphere regarding who you’re willing to let through the gate. Several of us close to Whitney felt the same way; this was no secret. “But it’s also unfair and inaccurate for anyone to claim that Bobby ruined Whitney the moment they started hanging out…”

“My words here are not meant to diminish Bobby in any way. I simply thought that he and Whitney were unequally yoked. I felt they would be great as friends, but not as husband and wife. Whitney knew I didn’t approve of their relationship early on.”

Are you pulling out your wallet to order?

  1. I believe that people should write about their own lives instead of trying to profit off of another. The story has been told and we’re all held accountable for our own lives so give it a rest and find some other means of catching a dollar.

Whitney is SPINNING RIGHT NOW IN HER GRAVE. To think that a so-called “brother/friend” would write a book about his sister; her personal business and such. Hell, her own BIOLOGICAL BROTHER’S haven’t written books yet…or her daughter. Let her rest in piece and let her fans enjoy the wonderful body of work she’s left behind.

I agree with Debbie. Bobby wasn’t perfect but he sure started on the downhill slide after dealing with her. I recall being in college in the late eighties and my girlfriend from NJ used to tell us that don’t let the weave and pop songs fool ya, Whitney is HOOD! We thought she was crazy but she was speaking the truth.

    • LOL. so very true. the industry gave her a nice wholesome girl next door image….hmmm. little did we know. Im not judging, just careful observation.

BeBe Winnans is an OPPORTUNIST in the worst way. I think there are enough horror stories in his own family to write about instead of exploiting Whitney in death!

Adults make choices in their lives and those of their children. The grown woman chose a grown man her partner. Even a spouse cannot make a partner choose substances that are harmful to their bodies. I am a huge Whitney Houston fan, and it makes me sad that authors of these books think there is some benefit to retelling a story with an incredibly sad ending.

  7. Whitney was a grown azz woman and nobody could make her do anything. She chose the life she led while here on earth and it took her away.

  8. Whitney Houston stated in her interview with Oprah that she was her own worst enemy. I agree that BeBe is trying to sell her book. I confused as to why she find it necessary to include Whitney in a book about her life. Why do people feel they have to keep saying the same thing. Are we supposed to buy her book to read the one section about Whitney. Let it go the woman is gone. She left a wonderful body of work that I love to listen to because of her awesome talent.

  9. No one blames Bobby for Whitney’s troubles….I always felt like she was his problem, anyway…..He had a great career until he got with her….
