Some actresses want to be stars. Some just want to work. In Tichina Arnold’s case, it’s a little bit of both. She may not have the highest profile of a Black Hollywood actress, but she’s rarely without a paycheck. Arnold has starred on three successful sitcoms – “Martin,” “Everybody Loves Chris” and now “Happily Divorced” on TV Land with former “Nanny” star Fran Drescher.

Not only is Arnold’s professional life going well, her personal life is, too. Once the single parent of a daughter with producer Carvin Haggins (Jill Scott, Musiq, Usher) she’s now married to St. John’s coach Rico Hines. Her lavish Hawaii wedding made for great pictures, which she shared with Essence.

Even though she’s on a new show, she can’t leave “Pam” her character on “Martin” behind. She told that she doesn’t rule out a reunion, since the cast still keeps in touch. But the sexual harassment lawsuit Tisha Campbell filed against star Martin Lawrence in 1996 probably means it won’t happen. (The lawsuit, filed while Lawrence was going through a host of personal, mental health and substance abuse problems was settled out of court, but Campbell completed her work on the last season of the show with Lawrence off-set.)

“The lawsuit was a very interesting thing to be a part of. Tisha and I have been friends since childhood, and Martin and I are still friends,” Arnold told

“There’s a point where you have to be professional and a point where you have to be personal, and I was very well aware of separating the two, and Tisha always respected that. It was very weird, but I handled it as best I could.”

“Happily Divorced” airs on TV Land on Wednesdays at 10:30 p.m.
