Michigan State has suspended all activities with a football booster club after learning the Michigan Lottery Commission is investigating the organization.

Michigan State has suspended all activities with a football booster club after learning the Michigan Lottery Commission is investigating the organization.

The Downtown Coaches Club is a nonprofit organization that runs raffles at the university’s football games, among other activities.

Athletic Director Mark Hollis said in a statement released Friday that he became aware several weeks ago that the club had some financial reporting issues and was under review by the lottery commission. Ties to the organization were immediately suspended.

A spokeswoman for the Michigan Lottery Commission confirmed the investigation, but declined to discuss details. A message seeking comment was left with the club’s attorney, Norman Gaffney.
