Kurtis Blow

In the late 70s, rapper Kurtis Blow signed to Mercury Records, becoming the first rapper to be signed by a major label. He released his first hit "Christmas Rappin" which to this day you can hear on the radio during the holiday season but his next song with go on to make history.

The legendary Kurtis Blow is still ticking. The Hip-Hop pioneer is recovering after a successful heart transplant surgery.

Hip Hop pioneer Kurtis Blow is on the road to recovery after his spleen ruptured causing him to be rushed to the emergency room in a near-death experience.
