TIME Magazine recognized the excellence of Simone Biles and all she had to overcome in 2021 by bestowing the Olympic medalist with its prestigious honor as "Athlete Of The Year."

She's was known as "the fastest woman in the world," but Florence Flo Jo Griffith Joyner was much more than that. She was a loving mother, a designer, and even an actress too.

Since Tommie Smith and John Carlos in 1968, a few other Black athletes have made history at the Olympics in a number of historic ways. In honor of the duo, let's take a look at times where the 200 Olympics was Black, bold and bigger than ever.
