Former First Lady Michelle Obama continues to make major moves since leaving the White House.

In addition to globetrotting with her husband Barack Obama to countries such as French Polynesia, Italy and Indonesia, Newsweek notes that Mrs. Obama continues to empower women and young people through her various causes such as the “Let’s Move’ campaign.

Back in May, Obama attended the annual partnership for a Healthier America Summit in Washington, D.C. and took a “veiled swipe” at Donald Trump and his administration.

“We’ve got to make sure we don’t let anybody take us back,” Obama said. “Every elected official on this planet should understand, don’t play with our children. Don’t do it.”

During her time as first lady, not only was Michelle dedicated to a number of empowering causes, she was also quite outspoken about criticism of Barack and HIS White House.

In spite of all the Obama “haters”… Michelle’s #blackgirlmagic continues to influence and impact many lives, and her dedication has earned her a top spot in Gallup’s poll of the “most admired” women in the U.S.

7% of the Americans polled said Michelle has a cozy spot in their hearts more than any other woman. The No. 1 spot went to Hillary Clinton, whom 9% of Americans said they admired the most. Only 1% of Americans named Melania Trump as the woman they most admire, per Business Insider.

The outlet notes how “Trump has received backlash for wearing expensive outfits, which can make her seem out of touch with Americans. Obama, meanwhile, used her fashion choices to represent social and political initiatives.”

Adding, “The difference is that Obama found ways to use fashion to bolster her political credibility — a skill Trump is still developing.”

Vogue said in its review of Obama’s 2012 book, “American Grown,” that “throughout the book, the first lady, always beautifully coiffed, wears a different J. Crew sweater to match the season (marigold yellow for summer, Argyle for fall).”

Do you agree that Michelle Obama used fashion to symbolize her social initiatives?

Mrs. Obama is President Obama’s right hand, partner, wife. She stands beside him, never behind. You can see the love and respect they have for one another. Stylish, classy, educated, intelligent, great personality. Mrs Obama alone is a force to reckon with on her own.

Malaria has done nothing but follow behind trump like a lost dog. Never smiles. No original thoughts or style of her own (copies Mrs Obama). Has done nothing with this bullying campaign she supposedly supported. She needs to start thatt husband of hers. She barely speaks Engish, uneducated, not attractive, dead eyes, no personality. She looks miserable with him.

There should not be any comparison between black royalty and white trash. Did Melania graduate high school? Isn’t she a former prostitute? She can barely speak english. Give me a break there is n o comparison

    • Melania is naturally beautiful can speak five language and married a multi billionaire. Michelle is ugly but because she is black the media say that she is pretty, plus Michelle married a pot smoking homosexual.

Why admire either of them? For being the presidents in-house?? Granted, Obama is educated and accomplished in her own rites but no more than thousands of others. I would think Oprah and Beyonce, who have achieved greatness tops them both.

    • Society is becoming more Entertainer and entertainment oriented but cool operate on the stage are not the same as an educated woman such as Michelle Obama.

  5. Mrs.Obama is thee epitome of style and grace. Michelle advanced using her brain and married a man worthy of her. Melania as chosen by 45 because she fit his bill, young, dumb, an willing to do anything to get money, his. So of course Mrs. Obama is a winner hands down

  6. Kudo’s to Michelle Obama!!!!!

As for Melania Trump-SHE DOES NOT DESERVE ANY DAMN ADMIRATION.
WTF has she done, except cower behind or at the side of her dumbass husband, Chump.

Melania seems to be very detached from her position as the First Lady. She appears
    lost.

    Screw her with a broomstick!!!!!!!!!!!!!

“There’s your legacy, Mr. President… it’s in the streets with your suffering people, Mrs. President. And if you can’t go and see about them, then don’t worry about your legacy… ’cause the white people that you serve so well… they’ll preserve your legacy — the hell they will — but you din’t earn your legacy with us!
“You didn’t earn your legacy with Black people. You fought for the rights of gay people… You fight for Israel… Your people are suffering and dying in the streets!”

    • @QueenB and SD exactly WHERE has Farrakhan gotten Black People?? You all are so quick to say what Obamas haven’t done – but tell me, exactly what have YOU done to help Black People??? Take up the leaves in your own backyard before trying to rake the leaves in some one else’s!

  8. The fact remains that the Obama’s did nothing for the black community, in fact, we are further behind after their 8 years. This is an inescapable reality.

As a black person myself, as black people we need to help ourselves which starts home, in our communities, with our mentalities, if black peoples are sitting back waiting for any one person . President or not to take care of them we will never get anywhere. Fact is I’m sure the people in congress would not have been happy with a black president focusing on black agendas. I’m sure that would have went over real well.

Well for what reason would I admire Mrs Trump? What has she done to make society admire her? Nothing against her, but she’s no Mother Teresa or Oprah or Rosa Parks or Marge Simpson. She married a rich man who just happened to make it to the White House. She didn’t ask yo be 2st lady or be seen in the public eye. I know she was happy living like she was!! Shopping…shopping and shopping and minding her business. I admire her for having the composure not to slap the holy shit out of her ignorant, lying ass phones husband in PUBLIC!! If she did that…I WOULD APPLAUD HER!!!!

I agree Michelle’s grace has nothing to do with her clothes although she does look flawless as usual and I love her style. I admire the way she carried herself during the entire 8 years, she and President Obama endured a lot of ugly racism during their time in office. In the face of hatred and white supremacy they remained strong and took the high road, that’s why they’re winning right now.
    ******
And in Melania’s defense she did not sign up to be first lady nor did she want to be in the WH and I don’t blame her. I can tell that she repulsed and embarrassed by trump.

    • specialt757 on said:

      @Passing…Perhaps.
In life, when given lemons, make lemonade. You may not always be able to pick your destiny. I don’t think Michele knew or ever dreamt of being first lady, but look how she made it work for her and she did a great job of be graceful. I can’t defend Melania because I don’t have too, she’s got more money than I will ever have and she didn’t have to work for it. I don’t feel sorry for her and I don’t “blame” her for being first lady, but what I do believe, is that she should be the very best first lady that she can be, this is a great honor. Do more than appear for photo ops, make a difference. Apparently, that’s not what she wants to do. So.
One more thing, I don’t believe Nancy Reagan may not have wanted the role either, but she was instrumental in her husband’s success. He needed her and she was there and performed her duties well. Oh and don’t get me wrong, I was not a Reagan fan, but I can give credit where it’s due.

Melania seems a lil detached from her first lady role, she didn’t move into the WH until a few months after trump took office. And I remember when she wouldn’t hold his hand she was caught slapping his hand away on more that one occasion..LOL! She just looks so unhappy to me. Michelle was much more involved in public service like with her “Get Moving ” campaign taking on childhood obesity. There’s clearly no comparison between the two. And don’t forget Melania stole Michelle’s speech…LOL! The ultimate compliment to Lady “O”.

All true Passing…ALL true. I do think she’s embarrassed by her fat, ignorant, lying ass husband, but…she picked him.

“Do you agree that Michelle Obama used fashion to symbolize her social initiatives?” I neither agree or disagree.
I will say the reason I like Mrs. O had absolutely nothing to do with her clothes. The fact that she has style and grace only adds to her already outstanding attributes.
It’s no surprise Mrs. O beat out Melania for most admired, there is not much to admire about MT. She was a porn model who married a “billionaire”. Let me know if I left something out.
Mrs. O’s resume and accomplishments are way too many to list here, google it. And she’s still not done.

    • Don’t forget MT speaks 6 languages, yeah right. No surprise here. MO is a class act. She’s hard to follow because she isn’t fake. She genuinely loves her family and she loves people. Kudos to Mrs. Obama!!

      • specialt757 on said:

@D, being able to speak six languages is impressive, however, I barely can understand her English and since I’ve never heard her hold a conversation in any of the other five, I’m really not impressed.

      • specialt757 on said:

I know D, we’re on the same page.
And for the record I don’t dislike her personally, but I definitely w/o a doubt do not admire her. Maybe by the time their tenure is up, she will have done something I can respect.
