Subway

On a New York subway train, a graduate of NYU law school was caught on video shouting the n-word repeatedly. It got so bad that people on the train ended up forcibly removing him from the train.

A video posted to YouTube shows the man holding a Bud Light Lime-A-Rita while saying the word repeatedly. “I talk shit because I know I can because I’m a lawyer. I went to NYU law. Fuck you,” he explained.

In the midst of this, the lawyer is confronted by several subway riders who managed to push him out onto a subway platform to get. In the process, he’s hit with soup thrown by an angry passenger and misses getting hit by a glass bottle.

The incident started when the lawyer started talking about his personal space with a few young Black men who were riding the train. The video starts after he’d used the n-word several times which escalated the incident.

In an interview with Gothamist, one witness said, “Understandably, this woman of color and a couple other folks as you can see in the video, call the guy out.” He continued, “This guy starts caterwauling about his 1st Amendment rights and whatnot. The guy didn’t seem to be falling-down drunk, but was …clearly belligerent.”

In the video and woman can be heard calling the man a racist to which he responds that he’s a “legal scholar.”

The woman who initially called him out broke down after he exited the train from the shock of what she just witnessed. “She and the larger gentlemen in black embraced and there was a good sense that social justice had been served,” explained another witness.
