There is absolutely NO excuse for why we can’t overcome any challenge to getting healthy and fit. Caprice O’Bryant knows this for sure. The 22-year-old Chicago-area woman has been through the wire, surviving a car accident at 14 and learning how to walk again and then surviving a second car accident a few years later that left her with seizures. At 19, she had a severe seizure that caused her to hit her head on the ground, resulting in total memory loss.

“I lost my memory in 2012, so the day that I hit my head on the concrete I had a seizure. I don’t remember anything before June 18, 2012,” Caprice said in her inspiring video on WCIU’s “You & Me This Morning” show featured today as part of their ‘Inspiring U’ segment.

Rather than collect a disability check and not doing anything with her life, she says, “I just decided that I was here for something else.”

Caprice’s journey to recovery began at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota, where she was encouraged to try yoga. With an invitation from her father, she began going to the gym. It was in the gym where glimpses of her future self were shown. “People were coming up to me in the gym like, ‘Can you help me lose weight?’ and I was like what do you mean? What makes you think that I can help you do that?,” she recalls. But, she says, “It was just remarkable the feeling that I got from helping them.”

Three years later, Caprice is stronger than ever. She is a certified personal trainer and the owner of Excuse Free Fitness, Inc. helping others others change their lives like she changed her own. How amazing it that?!

Check out Caprice’s full testimony in the video above. #WeSeeYou, Caprice, and we salute you!
