Two more suspects have been charged after a baby girl in North Carolina was struck and later died of a stray bullet wound. Maleah Williams was outside her apartment playing with Christmas gifts alongside friends when shots rang out in the complex.

The News & Observer of Charlotte reports:

Police arrested two more suspects Monday in the death of a 1-year-old girl shot Christmas Day while in her mother’s arms.

Charged with first-degree murder in the fatal shooting of Maleah Williams at Chapel Hill’s Trinity Court public housing community are:

▪ Ramone Jamarr Alston, 22, who was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Joint Fugitive Task Force without incident in the 600 block of Jones Ferry Road in Carrboro at about 1:45 p.m. Monday.

▪ Pierre Je Bron Moore, 23, who was arrested after surrendering himself at the Chapel Hill Police Department.

Also Monday, Chief District Court Judge Joseph Buckner set bail at $650,000 for a third man charged in the shooting incident. Shaquille Oneill Davis faces charges of attempted first-degree murder and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury in the drive-by shooting.

The judge also barred him from having any contact with Maleah’s family and from possessing a firearm. Davis didn’t speak at the brief hearing but on Sunday had denied shooting the toddler, as he was taken into custody, according to ABC 11 News.

Williams was shot on Christmas Day while playing in Trinity Court. She died of her wounds on Monday (Dec. 28).

A GoFundMe page has been enacted for Williams, who was nicknamed Peanut. The campaign successfully met its $7,000 goal and now sits at over $10,000 donated thus far.

This is disgusting….what a horrible end to such a beautiful young life. I have a little girl and can’t imagine something like this happening. THIS is the kind of nonsense we as a people should join together in outrage about. This innocent baby taken down some ignorant fools shooting at each other on Christmas Day, no less. If this was a police involved shooting, the city would be burning down right now. SMH. I wish I knew where this Mom lived… I would travel there just to give her a hug and words of comfort

Watching the newscast of this mom recount what happened was heartbreaking and brought tears to my eyes. OMG just such a senseless killing. Why are you out on Christmas day firing off your guns (illegal no doubt)? Just makes no sense.

Oh I’m sick. SMH in total disgust. This is so sad. I can only imagine this mom’s pain and I’m sure it doesn’t even measure to what she must be feeling. RIP baby, I pray for healing for this family.

  4. When will this generation LEARN! If you are not trained at handling a weapon, STRAY BULLETS KNOW NO NAME….an innocent life ALWAYS gets taken. I’m so tired of this, and hearing about this generation NOT GIVING A DAMN about life. Once that bullet leaves the gun, YOU ARE THE RESPONSBILBE PARTY and wherever it lands, YOU ARE THE RESPONSIBLE PARTY! I don’t want these idiots to go out by the death penalty, yet I want them to ROTT inside their own shell, for the rest of their lives…no parole EVER! RIP angel…you’ve taken your path as it was written.
