Wolf Blitzer tried it.

On Tuesday, the CNN host interviewed community organizer Deray McKesson, a rising star in the modern day Civil Rights movement, questioning him on the events in Baltimore. When Blitzer tried to push McKesson to denounce the protesters as violent and reckless, McKesson politely shut him down.

“The people that have been violent since August have been the police,” he tells Blitzer.

Unsatisfied, Blitzer brings up statistics about arrests, injured cops and vehicle fires saying, “there’s no excuse for that kind of violence, right?”

McKesson quips right back,

“There’s no excuse for the seven people the Baltimore police have killed in the last year, either, right?”

Undeterred, Blitzer basically comes out and says that McKesson is not saying what he wants him to say.

“I want to hear you say that there should be peaceful protest, not violent protest, in the tradition of Dr. Martin Luther King.”

Then McKesson drops the proverbial knowledge mic on him.

“You are suggesting this idea that broken windows are worse than broken spines,” he tells Blitzer.

Boom!

  1. Wolfe probably wants this deleted. He is such a jerk. I am so glad this young man kept his cool and put him in his place. I don’t agree with violent protests in anyway shape or form. But I do understand how this type or protest manifests itself. Eventually the volcano that has lid dormant for so long will erupt. As my grandmother used to say; if you keep poking that bear you are going to get just what you are looking for.

Kudo’s to this young man for standing up to Wolfe and not allowing him to bully him into saying what he wanted him to say.

White folks want to put their own spin on this situation in Baltimore instead of looking at the reality.

Yes the looting and destruction of property was awful-but so were those folks were have been beaten and or killed by the Pigs in Baltimore and across this country.

When folks stop being in denial about what is wrong –the SYSTEM-then maybe these issues can someday be resolved.

Some folks need to dig their heads out of their asses so they can truly SEE!!!!!!

Another well-spoken young black man who didn’t let the media put words in his mouth. He was able to speak intelligently and eloquently about what he believes and feels about he police brutality in Bmore and other cities USA. Kudos Mr. McKesson for keeping your cool while Blitzer tried to tell you what you agree with. “You don’t have to condone the riots and violence to understand it” Riots, are not a great thing but many of positives changes have resulted from them.
