On Tuesday, Mariah Carey was supposed to tape a performance for NBC’s Rockefeller Center tree lighting special that airs live tonight at 8 p.m. – but she missed her call time. So now NBC has no choice but to slot her in live during tonight’s broadcast, according to TMZ.

The website reports:

Carey was supposed to tape a segment for the live show that airs Wednesday night. But as fans waited for hours in the rainy, cold night , there was no Mariah in sight.

People connected to the hotel tell us … Mariah was ensconced in her East Side hotel, yacking with her lawyer on the phone about her divorce. People who overheard her say it did not seem nasty … she was going over the property settlement.

When she pulled up to Rockefeller Center more than three hours late, she was still on the phone and people overheard her continuing to talk divorce.

NBC execs were full on enraged — ditto the crew — and Mariah’s people were told to just go home. We’re told she really wanted to perform, but the network had clearly had enough.

We’re told Mariah was upset because she didn’t want to disappoint her fans or the network.

  1. Here is what Mariah really felt.”Don’t these people know who I really am” ” I’m just too good for these people.. ” I make the rules, you’re job, my fans is to kiss my big large bunions, and if you don’t like it don’t show up at my concerts. It will be at your loss, because I’m just to grand, and the whole world loves me and my large attitude that is just to big to put anywhere on my body, is what I say it is.

  2. Let me guess, she has been smelling her diva-ness for so long, she actually is starting to actually believe it. Mariah dear, you’re days of glory are no more, do you really want to start the very few days, you have where people actually still want to see you, in missing days? I think not. If you’re not careful, it will be you making your own version of “The Sunset Strip”, with you playing the great Norma Desmund.
