Barbara Walters defended Woody Allen on Monday’s episode of “The View,” despite the open letter written by his adopted daughter Dylan Farrow accusing the legendary writer-director of sexually assaulting her.

Referring to her long friendship with Allen and seeing how he behaves around his two daughters with wife Soon-Yi Previn, Walters said, “I have rarely seen a father as sensitive, as loving and as caring as Woody is and Soon-Yi to these two girls. I don’t know about Dylan. I can only tell you what I have seen now.”

But “View” co-host Sherri Shepherd pointed out that we often hear that people accused of doing horrible things were seen as loving and caring.

“We’ve heard so many cases of people going, ‘He was the most wonderful person in the world. I would have never thought he would’ve…,’ ” Shepherd said.

Walters quickly interjected that that’s not what she’s saying, but Shepherd added that there are “many things that go on behind closed doors.”

Shepherd also pointed out that Allen has a track record of being attracted to young women, which led to additional squabbling with Walters.

Walters insisted she was not saying what Shepherd said and that it’s unfair to criticize Allen now.

in Mia Farrows interview years ago, she said Woody had taken pictures of Soon-Yi’s privates when she was an adolescent, and even left the polaroids out. When she confronted him, he said SoonYi was having self-esteem issues and he was trying to cheer her up (ok, so she’s obviously as crazy as he is for thinking that there could be ANY logical explanation, let alone THAT flimsy one). Mia knew she’d paid for not turning the pics into the police when Woody later ran off with her and married her as soon as LEGALLY possible. but she had a gut feeling that things were going on looong before the girl turned 18.

I saw the show and frankly I could not believe what foolishness Ms. Walters was spouting. I really think she’s suffering from early signs of dementia. Has she lived with him twenty-four seven? She can’t confirm what he has or hasn’t done behind closed doors! Come on Man!!

Woody Allen should have been locked up a long time ago, and probably Mia Farrow.too. How does I’m your father change into I’m in love with you, let’s get married?

Barbara Walters, is to close to the subject to be objective, having a friendship with Woody Allen, she tends to stand up for him even in wrong doing. Even though he were cleared of wrong doings, this doesn’t say that these evens didn’t happen. Its that there were not enough evidence for charges at the time.

  5. That OLD BAT needs to retire already! She has proven throughout her career that she is NOT the barometer of morals or respectable good taste.
