People are up in arms after a couple photos of Kanye West‘s “Yeezus” tour merchandise that includes gear embellished with confederate flags hit the web.

One of the shirts has a skull and a confederate flag on it that reads “I Ain’t Comin’ Down,” and another design includes a skull draped in a confederate flag holding a scythe. He’s also selling bags with just the confederate flag by itself.

West has not explained the reasoning behind the designs.

  1. After 400 hundred years of slavery & institutional racism, the ONLY thing Kanye West can say about the confederate flag is, “You know the Confederate flag represented slavery in a way — that’s my abstract take on what I know about it.” SLAVERY was not and is not an abstract. It’s brutality against humankind & human dignity. I guess this is his way of being an honorary member of KKK.

  2. He is truly ignorant of what that symbol has meant to so many black people – many it was the last thing they saw before a horrendous death. Why not sell shirts with burning crosses – same message! He’s to smart (so he says) to be so ignorant!!
