How many times have you seen Beyonce and she didn’t look amazing? Probably very few. One would think that the flawless singer has found the fountain of youth and moved it into her private home. Luckily for Beyonce´, she has an amazing makeup artist that keeps her looking fab and well rested. Celebrity makeup artist, Mally Roncal, offers up some of Beyonce’s and many other celebrity beauties’ secrets to “looking alive”.

1. Ditch dark circles

Do you notice a shade of purple or brown-ish circles underneath your eye? Go out and find a golden/yellowish concealer that is one to two shades lighter than your skin. Use your finger to dot the concealer from the inner to outer corners of your eye in a semi-circular shape. Use a blending sponge to smooth it out, giving it an even consistency.
2. Glow girl

Dewy foundations are the key to transforming your dull, tired looking skin into a magazine ready miracle. Creamy and liquid-based foundations (except matte) work the best. Stay away from the talc powders. Using the right blender will help your foundation be evenly distributed across your face.
3. Keep it bright
Highlighters are your best friend. They can turn an exhausted face into a great awake one. According to Mally, “using the wrong products are women’s biggest makeup mistakes. Trying to highlight with matte foundation is just a perfect example of this.” Highlighters are meant to help reflect light and matte foundation can’t do this. Another mistake is using something with too much sparkle. Excessive shimmer is just as bad as matte. The look is dewy and bright, not your mom’s homecoming disco ball. “Fair skin looks good with a silvery tone, medium skin is best with gold, and dark skin looks pretty with bronze. Dust on the brow bone, tip of the nose, cheekbones, and cupid’s bow,” suggests Mally.
4. Draw the line

Mally likes to do the two eyeliner trick. Whether you like to use black or brown as your base liner, apply a thin lash line on the top, bottom, or both lids. Then double up with a lighter color, like gray or something shimmery.
