  • American Idol’s Candice Glover performed Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston’s “When You Believe” and brought a tear to Mariah’s eye with her breathtaking vocals. Candice is one of the “Idol” favorites and proved that when you have the voice, you’re able to sing complex songs made famous by expertly talented vocals like Whitney and Mariah’s.

All four judges stood to their feet at the end of Glover’s performance. I love that the talent on this show can overshadow the drama that seems to surround this season. The Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey feud continues on and it seems that Nicki’s been very disrespectful to the pioneering diva that is Mariah. Minaj recently told her to “Simmer down, sir,” which shocked the audience. I hope that if these two continue to be judges on this show, they can leave the bickering behind and focus on this blossoming new talent and not their own dislike of one another.

What did you think of Candice’s performance?
