Chicago natives Common and Jonathan McReynolds hit the stage at the 2024 Democratic National Convention (DNC) in support of Kamala Harris.

McReynolds sang a piece of his song “God Is Good” in between bits of Common’s song, “Fortunate,” both drawing from their deep roots in the Windy City.

The collaboration was not just a musical highlight, but a statement of unity and optimism. Both Common and McReynolds have previously used their platforms to advocate for social justice, and their appearance at the DNC underscored the importance of faith, community, and activism in shaping the nation’s future.
