In Florida, a WWE professional wrestler was arrested for, “falsely imprisoning and battering his newlywed wife,” who happens to be a professional wrestler herself.

ABC News reports, 26-year-old WWE, World Wrestling Entertainment, wrestler Rich Swann was arrested and suspended by the company indefinitely.

In an arrest document by the Gainsville Police Department, it states that Swann was driving after a match his wife, Vannarah Riggs, was in the two got into an argument.

In the document, police say, “(Swann) was critiquing (his wife’s) performance and began getting angry with her.” It continues, “She got scared that the argument was going to escalate and got out of the car.”

Swann stopped his car in the midst of traffic and chased his wife shouting at her, “to get back in the car,” according to an arrest warrant.

When he caught up to her, the document says he, “grabbed her by her arm and then around the neck with his arm.”

He then placed her in a headlock and took her back to the car. A witness said they say, Swann, “shove her back in the car while she screamed for help.”

Another witness account said they saw Swaan, “driving erratically” and saw a woman, “jump out of the vehicle while it moving and ran away.” It continued, “The car was not in park and continued to roll until it hit a telephone pole.”

According to police, Riggs said she was afraid of her husband because he, “has a temper sometimes.”

Swann was arrested on, “simple battery, a misdemeanor, and a felony charge of false imprisonment.”

WWE released a statement explaining, “WWE has zero tolerance for matters involving domestic violence, and per our policy, Rich Swann has been suspended indefinitely following his arrest.”
