Al Roker has commented on the departure of Tamron Hall from the NBC and MSNBC because the suits who run things decided to replace Hall with newly acquired Megyn Kelly who comes from Fox News.

On Thursday, Roker addressed Hall’s leaving the show, which is also confirmation of our exclusive report we published on Monday where we reported on the fact that Hall was being forced out. Here’s what he had to say:

“As some of you may have heard by now, our good friend Tamron Hall has decided to leave NBC News,” the veteran weatherman, 62, said. “Personally, Tamron has been not just a cohost on Today for the past three years, but a good friend — and to not just me, but to all of us here. We want to wish her nothing but the best, much continued success, and we cannot wait to see what her next chapter is.”

Meanwhile, US Weekly is reporting that according to an insider, Hall, 46, who’s been with NBC Universal since 2007, was told about the shake-up only “minutes before going on the air on Friday. She was a wreck in commercial breaks and couldn’t believe the company would tell her just before going live on MSNBC. It was especially surprising after receiving an email of praise from the co-executive producer just days before about how they were No. 1 in the ratings for seven weeks in a row.”

On Tuesday, Hall issued a statement on her departure from NBC and said this:

“The last 10 years have been beyond anything I could have imagined, and I’m grateful,” she said in a statement. “I’m also very excited about the next chapter. To all my great colleagues, I will miss you and I will be rooting for you.”

The network also addressed her exit in a press release on Wednesday.

“Tamron Hall will be leaving NBC News and MSNBC when her contract expires this month,” the company said in a statement. “[January 31] was her last day as an anchor on both networks. Tamron is an exceptional journalist, we valued and enjoyed her work at Today and MSNBC and hoped that she would decide to stay. We are disappointed that she has chosen to leave, but we wish her all the best.”

  1. Dr. Larry ..Megan Kelley is a proud card carrying KKK rascist cow. Showcasing oneself in bleached hair, some surgical nip tuck, nice clothes and a ton of makeup won’t disguise that. This tacky move by NBC speaks for itself. And Mr. Roker better watch his back.

Typical liberal responses, if you can’t argue the facts, attack the person. Grow up people. Is this the kind of shiggidy you are teaching your children?

If you speak the truth, you can’t be “baited”. Apparently the network is wanting to pick up another viewer demographic. Flavors of the month come and go. An on-air talent that works on one network, doesn’t necessarily carry over to another network. Katie Couric went to CBS, the viewers didn’t follow. The same applies to when Bryant Gumbell resurfaced on CBS. Only time will tell. However, if the new talent is afforded promotional resources that the former did not receive, then that shows a difference in network support.

First of all Peeps, she quit, she was not fired. Secondly, where was the outrage when Hall did the same thing to Natalie Moralas to take her time slot? Hypocrites

Dr. Larry, you’re free to support Ms. Kelly, but don’t stoop to her antics to justify an injustice. Yes Tamron technically quit, but did so because the offer extended to her was insulting. Akin to offering the once Chief of Staff a job to now clean trash. That’s how it done; that’s the game. You know it as I do. As far as Tamron doing that to her predecessor, I cannot speak to the details; however I DO KNOW that Tamron was brought in to appeal the the young African American audiences. Ms. Jelly DOES NOT have the ability. So it appears that NBC is no longer interested in that demographic. That’s fine. The AA community should oblige. This network was and always will lag all the others.

  4. NBC evidently believes Megyn Kelly will get better ratings than Tamron Hall. The challenge for us African Americans is not merely the removal of a high-profile black anchor, but what we do with our money and viewing capablities. For example, will NBC lose any black viewers are black money as a result of Hall’s departure? If not, then the ball is in our court.

    • They will lose me as a viewer. I’ve watched a few blacks leave NBC. Not sure of the reason but I’m guessing it’s wasn’t by choice. I will watch another channel for my news.

Mreagan Kelly is a crazy right wing trump apologist. Why NBC thinks that it’s audience wants to see some Fox News stooge is a mystery to me. All minorities should make it their business to boycott her show and any products that sponsor it.

In the United States of America, most major crisis, issues, matters or challenging events has race mixed in in as the staple. We all must not be deterred by it…we are like trees planted by the river; we will never be shaken or stirred or destroyed. We thrive…shake the BBC dust off your feet and keep it moving!

This is how the real world works Peeps, the better qualified candidate gets the job. It’s not based on race, color, creed, or religion.

  8. Tamron, I wish you the very best from here on. I can’t believe that NBC/ MSNBC would bring in the Fox trash replace your on-air presence, grace class and expertise. NBC has lost my viewership. All the best to you!

Tamron for every door that closes many more will open for you. God has your back Sister!
I wish you strength and success entering a new phase in your life, hang in there all prayers are with you.

    Much love.
