Kevin Roper entered the plea Tuesday in New Brunswick to charges of vehicular homicide and four counts of aggravated assault.

Roper was driving a Wal-Mart truck in June 2014 when he crashed into Morgan’s van on the New Jersey Turnpike.

Comedian James McNair died, and Morgan and three other passengers were injured. Morgan suffered a broken leg, broken ribs and head injuries.

The 37-year-old Roper, of Jonesboro, Georgia, faced counts including aggravated manslaughter, vehicular homicide and aggravated assault.

Under terms of his plea, he can avoid prison if he performs community service and satisfies other conditions over the next three years.

While what happened was terrible, sending this man to jail would serve ZERO purpose, he made a VERY POOR DECISION but keep in mind that at the end of the day this was a HARD WORKING MAN making an honest living just trying to feed his family, I can definitely feel sympathy for what happened cause Ive pushed myself to unsafe limits in order to keep food in my childs mouth & a roof over our heads

It was a terrible accident yes, however this man was doing what we all have to do and that is to work and provide for yourself or for your family I think the blame falls on wally world as well but all parties decided to settle out of court for undisclosed amounts of money. So that wally world doesnt have to bare their dirty secrets in public court I am sure he is not the only driver they have pushed like this to drive with little downtime!

  3. SMH–WTF????

The truck driver fell asleep at the wheel due to excessive hours of driving.
If this had not been the case-there would not have been an accident.

His negligence is what caused Mr. Morgan and some of his friends to be severely injured.
One of Mr. Morgan’s long time friends was killed due to his massive injuries.

It did not surprise anyone that WALMART attempted to feign innocence in their part in this
accident. They are a big corporation that does not wish to be sued or have to pay out
    on an injury/death claim.

As for this POS truck driver-he just needs to take his punishment and go directly to JAIL!!!!!!!!!!!
