Orrin “Checkmate” Hudson is a two-time World-Open speed chess champion and a #1 Amazon Best Selling Author of One Move At A Time, How To Win At Chess And Life who was brought on by Disney Studios to help promote the chess-oriented film, “Queen of Katwe,” starring Oscar award-winning actress Lupita Nyong’o.

He talks to the Tom Joyner Morning Show about how he taught more than 50,000 students how to play Chess and how to use it to strategically plan your life.

“I teach children how to have a game plan. Chess teaches delayed gratification, it teaches you not to do the first thing that pops in your head, its usually a trap. Chess is about using what you have to get what you want,” Hudson said.
