Roland Martin talks to author and co-founder of Hope Beyond Fibroid Gessie Thompson about the staggering number of black women struggling with Fibroids and ways to possibly prevent the disease.

“It’s pervasive for women in general. The numbers…it spikes up to 90 percent for black women all over the world. It’s embedded in our lifestyle… what we eat, what we breathe. The root cause of Fibroids is estrogen. Estrogen is found in soy and dairy and meat,” she said.

Unfortunately, it appears the more information we get concerning women’s issues, it
ends up still not telling us what we need to know. I think the better strategy
is not trying to prevent a single condition, but optimal health period for anybody.
I disagree with a plant-based diet to the exclusion of animal foods which contain
nutrients not found in plants. The highest quality foods and actual foods,
of course, are in everybodies best interest. And more important than the vague
notions of the air we breath – medical treatments cause much health devastation.

Additionally, if you want to be alarmed and increase awareness of something, I
think the epidemic rate of hysterectomy would be a better choice:

We should note that there is not (if we take a good look) a woman who doesn’t know
someone touched by hysterectomy, the sheer volume of women claimed says that’s a fact:

    – 1 in 3 over age 18 in Mississippi
    – 1 in 3 by age 60 (national average)
    – 1 in 2 by age 70 (national average)

    – minimally there are 22 million hysterectomized women alive today…….

Oh, it should also be noted; try getting healthcare post-hysterectomy; while you can get all the hormones, pain killers, and anti-depressants – that can be prescribed, healthcare is no longer possible.
