Horoscopes for the week of July 20th

If you are going to invite challenging lessons into your life, make sure your teacher is worthy.

The planet Venus just sashayed into the sign of Virgo the Virgin, which will eventually ground our energy in matters of the heart. As the story was told in last week’s blog, this short transit of Venus in Virgo begs the need for us to get back to the basics of love. It is not enough that your paramour does magic tricks and tells you how amazing you are (because you are!). Your lover should also understand that the initial spark of love needs earth beneath it to keep those passionate flames burning.

As an Earth sign, Virgo knows how to cultivate the land and plant seeds in order for something to grow; this same process holds true in our relationships. The seeds planted between two people could bring a great harvest as they reap the benefits of love. But the foundation must be consistently watered and treated so that love may grow in its purest state. That is how Venus in Virgo does relationships – it is all in the details. This shift, then, comes as a wake up call from the grand dream of love, in which Venus in Leo often gets lost.

Relationships will be up for analysis and consideration once Venus turns retrograde next week. Many will begin to question if a significant other or potential mate has what it takes to keep love alive when the spark begins to fade; love isn’t always perfect, but it is sustainable. Thankfully, the Sun’s ingress to Leo this Thursday will ensure that our heart remains somewhat aflutter.
