Dwayne Johnson signed on to voice the male lead in the upcoming Disney animated film, “Moana” after the studio gave him a two-hour long presentation, according to The Wrap.

Johnson will voice Maui, a legendary demi-god who helps a young girl from the ancient Oceania and born navigator, as she adventures across the ocean with gigantic sea creatures and searches for a fabled island.

“At DISNEY STUDIOS signing contracts to play the male lead in their next big classic animated musical, #MOANA. Just had an amazing 2hr presentation and it’s easy to see why they’re the greatest story tellers in the world,” Johnson wrote.

“Im excited. And in the background my homies Fred & Wasabi from #BigHERO6 are jumpin’ for joy joy cause they heard I’m gonna sing in the movie. #WeTrulyKnowWhereWereGoing,” he added.

Disney had its eye on Johnson for some time. The Wrap reported back in December 2014 the studio wanted him for the un-cast lead. The studios wish came true! “Moana” is due out in the theaters on Friday, Nov. 23, 2016.
