Roland Martin and the “NewsOne Now” Straight Talk panel discuss the Ray Rice domestic violence incident. Until the video of Ray Rice hitting his them-fiancé in the face surfaced, many did not take the domestic violence incident seriously. Now that the video is being circulated in the media, a new level of outrage has sprung up.

Did we have to see the footage to know what happened and to become even more upset about this incident? Does society take violence against African American women seriously? Listen  to Martin and the panel tackle this troubling subject below.

    It’s time for Black women to raise their sons to respect them! Forget Black Brothers who are abandoning these precious sisters. Talk To Me Man … Talk To Me If Ray had Beaten A White Woman The Way He Did His Wife I Bet He would be doing hard time in Jail and the White Woman would clean his Bank account big time. Sisters are sooo forgiving

    No it is not, not to mention majority of black men who are abusers were raised by single moms, yet have no respect for women. The saddest thing out of this is that we disrespect, abuse, violate, physically abuse, tear down each other everyday…And that just the woman to woman mess. How can we demand that our lifes be valued when we do not value each other.
