Los Angeles – April 30, 2014

Last week during an after-show segment of my radio show, The D.L. Hughley Show, I unintentionally offended some people.

In regards to Columbus Short’s legal issues, I jumped to a conclusion and blamed Tanee McCall-Short; and I’m sorry. My intent was not to quiet victims.

When I did speak of the topic on air, I repeatedly emphasized then, and as I do now, that anyone who is convicted of domestic violence, should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law; and that is what I believe.

Today, as always, the phone lines to The D.L. Hughley Show will be open.  We’ll address this topic with the DL Question of the Day and will discuss it throughout the show today from 3pm – 7pm ET.

I too don’t find him funny…but are we really surprised? He called his wife and daughters derogatory names in his stand up special…sooooo

  3. DL, to have abusers be convicted, victims have to speak out and people like you (adult, educated, in a position to have effective and positive change) should be supporting people who do speak out and encouraging more. And then let the courts prosecute. By you saying what you said, how you said it and to the audience that you cater to you may have unintentionally given support to abusers and silenced those that have and will be affected by domestic violence. I think you need more education in the area. I was just reading Maya Angelou’s book Mom and Me and Mom, where she shared a chilling story of abuse. Peoples lives are at stake… Not just a livelihood the victims, the abusers and often the children. What you said on your show was inexcusable. But it is forgivable if you right the wrong you made unintentionally or not.

F%*ck you, DL. You’re a misogynistic A-Hole! Go f%*ck yourself. Better yet, I hope someone twice your size beats the sh*t out of you so you can feel what is like to be battered. You stupid, ignorant f%*ck!

  5. What a jerk! What if your daughter Ryan was the victim of abuse… let’s see how funny it would be for someone with a public platform to call her a bitch or make light of her situation! You are laughable! You were appalled when owner of the Clippers SAID derogatory remarks about Blacks. Yet, you make fun of a woman actually being ABUSED! This is horrifying! Just pure Ignorance! I hope they take you off the air!

I have NEVER found D.L. Hughley funny. It pains me that he and his ignorant cocky brand of humor for lack of a better term is on the radio from 3pm-7pm. Not surprised by his ignorant comments.

    • I thought I was the only one who has NEVER found this fool’s brand of humor funny. He should take his own advice and shut his unfunny, rusty mouth. Creepy looking ass.
