Chris Brown’s behavior has been linked to bipolar disorder. According to new court documents, the bad boy singer was diagnosed with manic depressive illness, severe insomnia and post traumatic stress disorder during his 90 days of anger management therapy.

“Mr. Brown became aggressive and acted out physically due to his untreated mental health disorder, severe sleep deprivation, inappropriate self-medicating and untreated PTSD,” an official from the rehab faculty wrote in a letter to the court. It also revealed that Breezy is on medication for all three conditions.

The 24-year-old pop star saw a Los Angeles judge on Friday, TMZ reports. The documents were revealed during the probation hearing, which stemmed from his 2009 assault against then-girlfriend Rihanna. As a result, the judge ordered the singer to spend another two months in the Malibu rehabilitation center. His next hearing was scheduled for April 23.

Brown’s lawyer Mark Geragos said “the judge is pleased and so are we with his progress, and we hope it continues.”

“Chris is healthy and is doing very well,” he said. “He’s spectacular.”
