iPhone users in Japan now have a way to protect their cell phone and curb their appetite.

The Survival Senbei Rice Cracker iPhone case, which is composed of brown rice and salt, is identified as “literally part food, part phone case … and great in an emergency when you are desperate for a snack.”

The case is being sold in the U.S. at a Japan Trend Shop with the price tag of $81.

However, distributors are warning consumers about the effectiveness of the case’s ability to protect.

“Please be aware that due to its delicate nature, this case may become broken in the delivery or dispatch process,” according to the Japan Trend Shop.

Each case is handmade and is described to serve as trendy link between the obsession over Japanese cuisine and technology.

Developers say the case’s name is a comical nod to post-apocalyptic tales such as “Revolution” and “The Walking Dead.” Japanese culture has gone even further to embrace this pop culture trend through zombie-themed restaurants.

It appears the protective case is a hot item this holiday season with the distributors’ website claiming they were sold out on Thursday.
