Chikesia Clemons was the woman at a Waffle House in Alabama who was arrested after asking a cashier why she had to pay for her plastic utensils. Without starting anything, she asked for the district managers number and within minutes cops had her on the floor.
Rev. Al Sharpton was in Alabama to to let it be known that neither he or the community will stand for that kind of treatment. He’s calling on Waffle House to do the right thing.
“We cannot live in a time where our women are disregarded and abused for any reason,” explained Sharpton. “We’re not going backwards to where you can treat us any kind of way.”
