The Miami Heat and BankUnited are offering $25,000 in scholarship funds to high school seniors attending Miami-Dade, Broward, Monroe or Palm Beach schools.

Scholarship applications are available each school year and recipients are awarded in May. Students with financial needs are giving priority.

This will be the eighteenth year that the Miami Heat has offered scholarships. Scholarships are awarded based on academic performance and outstanding community service.

Applicants will also be required to submit a 500-word essay.

Scholarships include the following:

* Three (3) $5,000 HEAT Scholarships
* One (1) $5,000 Dr. Jack Ramsay Scholarship
* One (1) $5,000 Alec Kessler Student-Athlete Scholarship

This year’s application deadline is Saturday, April 5, 2014.

  1. Miami Heats is my favorite team. I try to attend as much possible games as I can. I move after them when they play outside. I usually book my tickets here at if ineterested.
